Return Safe App Instructions

The Aspen Institute regards the health and safety of its staff and participants as our highest priority and is committed to doing its part to end the COVID-19 pandemic. As such, please find our COVID-19 protocols to attend the event below.

For events in Florida, all attendees will be required to take a COVID-19 rapid test prior to entering the event space and show a negative result before entry, and wear a mask at all times (except during meal times), unless you elect to volunteer your vaccine information with us. While being vaccinated is not a requirement for attending this event, you can choose to share that information with us through our screening app and will not be required to take a rapid test on site.

The Institute is using the ReturnSafe app to capture, track, and securely store attendees’ volunteered vaccination and negative rapid test data.

To use the app, you will need the following information:

  • Workspace: aspeninstitute
  • Program Host or Group: Aspen Challenge
  • Event name: AC: Miami Solution Showcase
  • Event Start Date: April 21, 2022
  • After providing your contact information, you will be asked a series of questions about your vaccination status and can volunteer to upload your vaccine documentation as verification.

Please bring your mobile device to the event to show you are cleared to attend.

For participating teams (students & educators) if electing to not upload your vaccine information into Return Safe- you will be asked to take an at-home COVID-19 rapid test within 24 hours prior to the event (Wednesday, April 20 between 8am – 7pm).  All rapid tests will be mailed to your home address in the Innovation Lab, and you will be required to submit your negative test result via the app the evening before.  You will not be able to take the arranged bus transportation from your school to the event unless you have completed Return Safe with either a picture of your vaccine card or the rapid test and uploaded it into Return Safe.

For event guests, judges and speakers, please elect to either complete Return Safe with your vaccine information or you have the option of completing a rapid test onsite.  We will have a testing service at the entrance of the Graham Center Ballroom at FIU.  Please plan to arrive at the venue 15 minutes before to complete the test before entering the event.

Lastly, please note, any guest that prefers to not share their vaccine information will be required to wear a mask at all times indoors, except when actively eating and drinking.  Masks will be provided upon entry.
